I would always doodle as a kid. In some wierd way it helped me absorb information better. I think instead of prescribing ADD and ADHD medication out the wazoo to young children (of course, unless all other options have been exhausted), doctors could turn to other methods to combat ADD and ADHD at a young age. I have a friend at school who was diagnosed with ADD in elementary school. Her doctor told her to knit, and so she did. She learned to knit and the teacher let her knit in class. It gave her something to do with her hands and if she could do two things at once she could focus better. That helped her, and now she’s fine, at an amazing school, and doesn’t need to take any medication. In addition, doctors prescribing the medication so liberally has lead to an increase in prescription drug abuse, including stimulants such as Adderall. Using these to prepare for a test is illegal, cheating, and dangerous; a felony. If stimulants are taken along with alcohol they don’t “cancel each other out” they heighten effects (increased heart rate, alertness, paranoia).

This shit just pisses me off. But I like the doodle. Rant over.
